Dr. Neal Cross

In Memory of...

We all decided to wear high heels {reason below} in memory of Dr. Neal Cross who died in a motorcycle crash.

Our photo in front of the medical school building.

...Dr. Neal Cross
Dr. Neal Cross was an amazing man and will always be remembered.  He impacted hundreds of medical students.  He taught us the finer aspects of the brachial plexus and always lectured us on how terrible high heels are for our biomechanics.  He died doing something he loved...riding his motorcycle through East Tennessee on a gorgeous afternoon.

His family is in my prayers, and I will always remember the man who encouraged us to paint each other's bodies with various anatomical markers and "strut our stuff" on the DCOM runway.

You may have seen these pictures before:

DCOM Softball

Softball

Josh, Ashlin, Rachel and I at Brett's softball game!
Corey recruited him to play the night we arrived in TN :).
It was a great opportunity to relax after our first exam.

Taking care of business at short stop!

This is a Christian league and it's so cool to see both teams circle up and pray before the game...especially when my husband is the one who prays :)

Not sure what this is all about

After rain and heat and humidity and troubles of rain and troubles of load,
we finally made it to our Tennessee home

Our "little" piece of heaven...y'all come out and visit some time.
We'll bag us a deer and have some good eatin'

They live in a very cute single-wide trailer....

Their new home sweet home !!!

Thanks for sticking with me ALL the way to the end.
I just talked to Chels on the phone, and she and Brett are pretty tired after a long road trip.  However, they are still wishing they were on their honeymoon ready for the next adventure.

She starts her second year of medical school on Monday, and Brett starts his classes in a couple weeks.

Apparently, their dog Gracie LOVES her new yard !!!
Tennessee, I hope you know how lucky you are.
Cheers to Brett and Chelsey !
