The Hills are Alive

Sometimes you just need a study break...

 ...especially on a beautiful day!

Me and my friend Ashlin goofing off.
Thanks Rachel for taking the pictures!

[note from big sis: For those of you who know Chels, you know that Sports Medicine is very dear to her heart.  She studied it for 4 years at Point Loma Nazarene University, then continued practicing as a teacher at Agoura High School.  She started the Sports Medicine class at Agoura High, which is still going strong today.  I've even met a missionary in Vienna, Austria who was on the Point Loma soccer team, and remembers how great of an athletic trainer she was.  I'm a proud big sis !]

Intramural Volleyball

"Spike and Dome"
is the up and coming sand volleyball team of LMU-DCOM.

It consists of Myself, Brett, Rachel, Kayla, Crystal, Corey and Joyce.

We are a rag tag team full of spunk and poise.
As you can tell by the fierce poses my teammates Rachel,

 Crystal,

...and Kayla made when I asked them to strike a pose.

Currently, Gracie is our number one fan.

Gracie and Brett

Gracie and Brett enjoy playing soccer in the back yard.
Gracie's new favorite hobby is chasing deer...

She is still working on what to do when they chase her back...

Dr. Neal Cross

In Memory of...

We all decided to wear high heels {reason below} in memory of Dr. Neal Cross who died in a motorcycle crash.

Our photo in front of the medical school building.

 Panoramic

...Dr. Neal Cross
Dr. Neal Cross was an amazing man and will always be remembered.  He impacted hundreds of medical students.  He taught us the finer aspects of the brachial plexus and always lectured us on how terrible high heels are for our biomechanics.  He died doing something he loved...riding his motorcycle through East Tennessee on a gorgeous afternoon.

His family is in my prayers, and I will always remember the man who encouraged us to paint each other's bodies with various anatomical markers and "strut our stuff" on the DCOM runway.

You may have seen these pictures before:

DCOM Softball

Softball

Josh, Ashlin, Rachel and I at Brett's softball game!
Corey recruited him to play the night we arrived in TN :).
It was a great opportunity to relax after our first exam.

Taking care of business at short stop!

This is a Christian league and it's so cool to see both teams circle up and pray before the game...especially when my husband is the one who prays :)

Road Trip

Ready or Not...

Our difficult passenger

A great way to start off a road trip

 Day one...making some headway

 Are we there yet?

 A different kind of beauty

Getting closer...

 The Arkansas sunrise

 She's about had enough

The fuel that kept us going

Hello Memphis...look it's Elvis!! Don't you see him?

 My family :)

Not sure what this is all about

After rain and heat and humidity and troubles of rain and troubles of load,
we finally made it to our Tennessee home

Our "little" piece of heaven...y'all come out and visit some time.
We'll bag us a deer and have some good eatin'
